The son of the agent of Napoli centre-back Paolo Cannavaro has revealed that the player almost left the club to join Inter Milan in the summer transfer window.
Gaetano Fedele said that Cannavaro's current club decided late on that they did not want to sell the player, which put an end to the potential transfer.
"In August there was a deal with Inter, but Napoli stopped it, declaring him non-transferable," he told Radio Gol.
"The final decision always rests with the company."
Cannavaro, who started his career at Napoli, has been at the club since 2006 for his second spell.
