Yohan Cabaye admits that he is excited to be playing in the Europa League with Newcastle United next season.

Yohan Cabaye has described the upcoming campaign as "massive" for Newcastle United.

The Magpies surprised many people last season on their way to finishing fifth in the Premier League table, which in turn saw the club qualify for the Europa League.

With new competitions to participate in, Cabaye believes that the Newcastle squad can only benefit from the experience.

"Playing in Europe next season is massive for the club and massive for the players as it shows progression," the French midfielder told the club's official website. "We have to play in these sorts of competitions for the experience. It can only be a good thing for us as a squad.

"The fans will love it too. I can't wait for a European night in our stadium - it will be great.

"It will be really important to play well in this competition and I'm sure we can do well."

Cabaye joined Newcastle last summer from French side Lille.
