Newcastle United are unlikely to sign Aston Villa midfielder Jack Grealish, according to a report.
The Magpies had been linked with a move for the 22-year-old, but according to the Newcastle Chronicle, the midfielder's £30m price tag will be too high for manager Rafael Benitez's liking.
The newspaper instead says that Newcastle are interested in Nottingham Forest midfielder Ben Osborn and have been tracking the 23-year-old's progress for the past two seasons.
The former England youth international is also being watched by Stoke City, but Newcastle remain confident that they can secure Osborn's signature for a reasonable price.
Tottenham Hotspur youngster Marcus Edwards could also be a target for the Magpies, should a deal for Osborn fall through.
