Nottingham Forest beat Sheffield Wednesday 1-0 at Hillsborough courtesy of a Radoslaw Majewski strike.

Nottingham Forest have moved back up to eighth place in the Championship courtesy of a slender 1-0 win over Sheffield Wednesday this afternoon.

The hosts almost took the lead with the first real chance of the match as Connor Wickham directed a header towards goal, but Karl Darlow was equal to it.

The visitors took the lead just before the half-hour mark when some nice football split the Wednesday defence open, allowing Radoslaw Majewski to slot the ball past Chris Kirkland.

Kirkland was called into action again just three minutes later, but this time he was able to deny Dexter Blackstock with the striker bearing down on goal.

Michail Antonio tried to inspire an equaliser for his side, and almost managed it midway through the second half when he turned inside the box and curled an effort just over the crossbar.

Wednesday pushed for an equaliser, but the closest they came was a couple of goalmouth scrambles that were eventually cleared as they remain perilously close to the relegation zone.
