Portsmouth have confirmed that manager Guy Whittingham has left the League Two club after having his contract terminated.
The 49-year-old enjoyed two spells in caretaker charge at Fratton Park before being named the team's permanent boss in April.
Pompey are currently in 18th place in the table following five wins and six defeats from 16 matches.
"Portsmouth Community Football Club regret to announce that, following a meeting with the chairman, CEO and finance director, Guy Whittingham has today left his post as manager after his contract was terminated," read a statement on the club's official website.
"The club wishes to place on record its sincere gratitude to Guy for his service to the club during difficult times."
Andy Awford has been put in caretaker charge of the team for Tuesday night's fixture at home to Southend United in League Two.
