How Germany could line up against Turkey

Ahead of Germany's international friendly with Turkey on Wednesday evening, Sports Mole looks at how Die Mannschaft could line up.

Germany take on Turkey in an international friendly at the RheinEnergieStadion on Wednesday evening seeking their first victory of 2020.

Die Mannschaft were held to successive 1-1 draws by Spain and then Switzerland in their opening set of UEFA Nations League fixtures last month.

Joachim Low will be targeting six points from six against Ukraine and Switzerland over the coming week, but first is this friendly with Turkey.

Here, Sports Mole looks at how Germany could line up in Cologne.

Possible GERXI vs. TUR

Low has named Bayern Munich's contingent of players in his 29-man squad after they were left out last month due to their Champions League final commitments.

However, it has since been announced that Manuel Neuer, Joshua Kimmich, Leon Goretzka and Serge Gnabry will play no part in the first of the three games over the space of six days.

Lukas Klostermann, Marcel Halstenberg and Toni Kroos are also not in contention for the Turkey match, but they will be involved against Ukraine and Switzerland.

The fringe players in Low's reduced 22-man squad will therefore be confident of featuring on Wednesday, with Jonas Hofmann in contention to make his senior debut.

Elsewhere, Leroy Sane and Thilo Kehrer will definitely play no part because of injuries, while Ilkay Gundogan has not been included after recently testing positive for coronavirus.
