Paris Saint-Germain forward Edinson Cavani has shouldered the bulk of the responsibility for his team's failure to beat Arsenal in Tuesday night's Champions League clash in the French capital.
Cavani opened the scoring inside the first minute at Parc des Princes, but Arsenal secured a share of the spoils courtesy of a second-half equaliser from Alexis Sanchez.
The Uruguay international had a host of opportunities to send his team two goals ahead on the night, but wasteful finishing prevented PSG from opening their Group A campaign with all three points.
"We played a great game. We played better than in the previous game in the league (a 1-1 draw against Saint-Etienne). There are many positive things [to take from the game]. But in the end, we pay dearly for our lack of consistency in front of the goal," Cavani told reporters.
"In this competition you have to win a lot of points. It was the first game and we must continue to play like we showed. As I said before, I think we played a great game but we have to be better in front of goal.
"I take responsibility for it because I had the clearest opportunities. But this is football, sometimes the ball goes in, sometimes it doesn't. We just have to continue because we showed a lot of positive things."
PSG are now without a win in their last three matches in all competitions.
