Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink "very happy" QPR fought back to draw with Brighton

Queens Park Rangers boss Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink says that he is "very happy" that his team managed to fight back from 2-0 down to draw against Brighton.

Queens Park Rangers manager Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink has admitted that he is "very happy" to have witnessed his team come back from 2-0 down to seal a 2-2 draw against Brighton & Hove Albion at Loftus Road on Tuesday evening.

Dale Stephens and Rajiv van La Parra scored inside five minutes in the second half, but Charlie Austin netted twice to earn a point in Hasselbaink's second game in charge.

The former Burton Albion boss has claimed that Brighton were lucky to take the lead as he believes that Stephens should have been penalised for nudging Sandro before taking his overhead kick.

"I am very happy - we needed that," Hasselbaink told Sky Sports News. "We were ever so unlucky in the first half - there was only one team in it. We deserved a goal. When you're on top you need to score.

"Second half we started so-so and I think they scored with what could have been a foul - it's a nudge. We lose a our head a little bit and they score two.

"After, it was all us again - creating chances, making their keeper work. Luckily we scored two goals. If we were a bit luckier we could have scored a third one."

Hasselbaink has overseen two draws during his spell as QPR manager so far.
