Former Rangers director Paul Murray is reportedly planning on making an offer to buy the Scottish outfit before the March 16 deadline.
The stricken club's administrators, from London firm Duff and Phelps, set next Friday as the deadline for investors to save the SPL champions from their financial crisis.
It is understood that Murray will make an offer for the club and reports have claimed that the businessman is working alongside the administrators to prevent liquidation.
Gers' second largest shareholder Dave King released a statement earlier today claiming that liquidation was "inevitable" for the struggling club.
