Raith Rovers query Rangers 'rule breach' over youngster Ryan Hardrie

Raith Rovers contact the Scottish FA's compliance officer over a possible Rangers rule breach regarding the early release of one of their players from international duty.

Raith Rovers have asked the Scottish Football Association to investigate a potential rule breach by Rangers.

The Championship club have contacted the SFA's compliance officer over whether a request to release Ryan Hardrie early from the Scotland Under-19s "breaches SFA articles and rules".

Rovers have Craig Wighton in the squad, who remains in Bulgaria for the U19s campaign and misses Saturday's game against Rangers, but an SFA spokesman said that both clubs were afforded the same opportunity to recall their player.

The 18-year-old Rangers youngster has made one appearance in the first team this season, as a substitute in the 5-0 Scottish League Cup win over Airdrieonians.
