Half-Time Report: Real Madrid lead Copenhagen at the break

Luka Modric's strike has given Real Madrid a 1-0 lead at half time against Copenhagen in the Champions League.

Real Madrid have taken 1-0 lead at half time against Copenhagen in the Champions League.

Luka Modric gave the visitors the lead after 25 minutes when he curled an effort into the top corner after displaying some neat footwork on the edge of the box.

Karim Benzema had a good chance a minute earlier when he turned on the edge of the area and fired an effort goalwards. However, his effort was saved by Johan Willand in the Copenhagen goal.

Cristiano Ronaldo almost doubled the lead towards the end of the half, but Willand did well to get down to save his fizzing low effort.

Thomas Delaney had a goal disallowed for the home side on 43 minutes when he handled the ball in the build-up to him bundling home.
