Carlo Ancelotti: 'Fabio Coentrao will start on Wednesday'

Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti says that Fabio Coentrao will start at left-back in Wednesday's Champions League semi-final against Bayern Munich.

Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti has revealed that first-choice left-back Marcelo will not be fit for tomorrow's Champions League semi-final first leg against Bayern Munich.

The Brazilian has missed the last few weeks with a hamstring problem and, although he has resumed training, will play no part in the Spanish capital.

As a result, Portuguese international Fabio Coentrao will start on the left side of the defence.

"Marcelo started back in training a week ago, but he hasn't played for a while. Tomorrow, Coentrao will start," Ancelotti told reporters at a press conference.

Cristiano Ronaldo is also expected to start for Los Blancos following a period on the sidelines.
