Former Real Madrid midfielder Christian Karembeu has insisted that Los Blancos are 'the only team' that can win the Champions League this season.

The Spanish giants are bidding to land the European Cup for a third time in succession, and will take on Juventus in the first leg of their quarter-final next week.

Despite the presence of the likes of Bayern Munich, Barcelona and Manchester City, Karembeu has claimed that his former club are the clear favourites to land the trophy once again.

"Don't even ask the question. Only Real can win [the Champions League], that's it. In Kiev, who's going to play against Real, this I don't know. Real will be in Kiev, yes," Karembeu told Omnisport.

Karembeu joined Real Madrid from Sampdoria in 1997, and spent three seasons with the Spanish giants before moving to Middlesbrough.
