Jose Mourinho says that Real Madrid can still make the Champions League final despite their huge first-leg deficit.

Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho has no doubts that his side can still advance to the final of the Champions League despite being thrashed by Borussia Dortmund on Wednesday.

Four goals from Robert Lewandowski handed the Bundesliga outfit a 4-1 win at the Westfalenstadion and a big advantage going into the return leg of their semi-final clash.

Despite the deficit, Mourinho is confident that the La Liga champions can turn the tie around at the Santiago Bernabeu next week.

"It is of course very difficult but in football it can happen," Mourinho told ESPN.

"Of course we can, on a crazy night, where everyone performs at a high level and every chance you have and every goal you score is with a high level of efficiency. Of course you can."

The second leg takes place at the Santiago Bernabeu on Tuesday.
