Barcelona captin Xavi Hernandez says that winning at Real Madrid on Saturday would represent a "turning point" in the Catalan club's season.

Barcelona captain Xavi Hernandez has said that a win against Real Madrid in Saturday's El Clasico would represent a "turning point" in the Catalan club's season.

The reigning La Liga champions go into the match at the Santiago Bernabeu three points behind Madrid, albeit having played one game more.

"It's always nice to win at the Bernabeu and even more so looking at the table. It would be a turning point for us," Xavi told the club's official website.

"This is the Clasico that we're coming to in our best form."

The current European champions took four points off their rivals on the way to last season's league triumph.
