Real Madrid interim boss Santiago Solari urges Gareth Bale to take centre stage for the club this season.

Real Madrid interim boss Santiago Solari has urged Gareth Bale to take centre stage for the club this season.

Bale is under pressure to score the goals for Madrid this term following the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo.

The Wales international has only managed four in 12 appearances in all competitions, however, and his early-season form has been called into question.

Solari has said that the former Tottenham Hotspur attacker "has the spotlight", and has called on the 29-year-old to produce the goods for the European champions.

"He has the spotlight. I hope he shows us his huge talent. We want to enjoy him every day; he's a fantastic player," Solari told reporters.

Madrid will look to end a run of five La Liga games without a win when they host Real Valladolid on Saturday afternoon.
