Xabi Alonso has signed a new two-year contract with Real Madrid that will see him stay at the Spanish club until June 2016.
The Spain international midfielder's original deal was due to run out at the end of the season and reports had suggested that he could be convinced to move back to the Premier League.
However, the 32-year-old has dismissed all speculation over his future by agreeing to remain at the Santiago Bernabeu until 2016.
"This will continue to be my home for two more years. I am very happy to tell you. Come on Madrid!" he posted on his official Twitter page.
Madrid have also confirmed the deal on their official website.
