Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane is reportedly considering the possibility of using Gareth Bale at left-back next season.

Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane is reportedly considering a change of position for Gareth Bale.

The Wales international has taken on a number of roles during his career, but the 29-year-old has been purely deployed in the final third during his time at the Bernabeu.

Bale has been heavily linked with a return to the Premier League, but according to AS, Real are looking for an alternative if they cannot cash in on the attacker.

The report suggests that using Bale at left-back is an option for Zidane, with the player having featured there for both Southampton and Tottenham Hotspur.

Marcelo and Sergio Reguilon are currently competing for the left-back spot, but it appears that Zidane could provide himself with an extra choice on that side of the backline.
