Report: Carlo Ancelotti 'desperate' to keep Angel di Maria

A report claims that Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti wants Angel di Maria to remain at the Bernabeu despite outside interest.

Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti has reportedly instructed the club's hierarchy not to listen to offers for Angel di Maria at the end of the season.

The 26-year-old had been strongly linked with a move away from Madrid in the early part of the campaign following the arrival of Gareth Bale from Tottenham Hotspur.

However, the Argentine has thrived in a central midfield role this season under the Italian.

It is understood that Madrid are still open to offers for Di Maria, but according to Marca, Ancelotti wants the attacker to remain at the Bernabeu.

Di Maria arrived in Spain from Benfica in 2010.
