David Moyes delighted with Asier Illarramendi capture

David Moyes says that Asier Illarramendi is a "great signing" for Real Sociedad, following the midfielder's return to the club from Real Madrid.

Real Sociedad manager David Moyes has said that he is delighted with the recent signing of Asier Illarramendi.

The 25-year-old rejoined the Basque club earlier this week after spending the past two years at Real Madrid.

"Illarramendi and his return is very good for the club," Moyes told reporters.

"It shows the ambition of the President, who wants to build a good team, so the fans must give much credit to [President] Jokin Aperribay. He's a great signing because Real Madrid signed him for his quality.

"Big signings like these make the difference. Illarra's excited too because he knows the club's ambition."

Illarramendi made 90 appearances for Sociedad in his previous spell at the club.
