Shay Given insists that Republic of Ireland will take nothing for granted against Estonia on Tuesday evening.

Goalkeeper Shay Given has insisted that the Republic of Ireland have not confirmed their participation at the European Championships next year.

Giovanni Trapattoni's men took a big stride to reaching the tournament with a 4-0 win over Estonia last night.

However, ahead of Tuesday's match between the two sides in Dublin, 35-year-old Given is taking nothing for granted.

"We are not there yet, but we have got a fantastic chance now of finishing the job off on Tuesday," said the Aston Villa keeper.

"You don't like talking about being there when you are not there already because anything can happen in football - we could get a man sent off in the first few minutes in Dublin.

"But, please God, we can finish the job off now."

Ireland last competed in a major tournament in 2002.
