Roma new boy Wojciech Szczesny has said that he is relishing the challenge of displacing goalkeeper Morgan de Sanctis this season.
Szczesny, 24, sealed a season-long loan move to the Italian side yesterday, having fallen further down the pecking order following the arrival of Petr Cech in North London.
He will now compete wih De Sanctis - 13 years his senior - for a starting berth, but the Pole, who was the Gunners' number one from 2010 until last season, says that his experience stands him in good stead.
Asked by Roma's official site what his chances are like, he said: "I don't know. It's the manager's decision with how he is going to rotate the goalkeepers. I just hope I can earn my place in training.
"Playing games gives you a lot of experience and I believe I have plenty of it at such a young age. I hope I can use some of it to have a very good season here at Roma."
Szczesny will wear the number 25 shirt.
