Gordon Strachan pleased with Scotland display

Scotland boss Gordon Strachan explains his happiness with his squad after they beat Northern Ireland 1-0 on Wednesday.

Gordon Strachan has declared himself pleased after his Scotland side edged out Northern Ireland 1-0 on Wednesday.

Christophe Berra's late header was enough for Strachan's charges who now host lowly Gibraltar in their Euro 2016 qualifying campaign, and the Scot was happy with what he saw at Hampden Park.

"A lot of things [were pleasing] yes, we had plenty of efforts on goal and [Northern Ireland goalkeeper] Michael McGovern played very well," he told Sky Sports News.

"After half an hour, it had a friendly feel to the game, and in the last 15 minutes, [the game came] on again.

"I thought that our shape was good and there are one or two things I want to work on, and we'll do that."

Scotland are currently third in Group D, level on points with world champions Germany with seven points.
