Southampton manager Nigel Adkins has insisted that he ignores any speculation surrounding his role at the club.
It has been reported that the Southampton hierarchy may opt to replace Adkins with a more experienced boss, but the 47-year-old believes that scrutiny is part and parcel of being a Premier League manager.
Adkins told reporters: "The speculation does not affect me at all. People always get linked, whether that be players or managers.
"I have to focus on being manager of Southampton Football Club. It's a position I am proud to have. In this league, we have young managers and experienced managers.
"Every manager is scrutinised and we all want to win. We are together as one here, and you have to keep striving to be successful."
Southampton only remain out of the Premier League relegation zone on goal difference.
