Sporting Lisbon have announced that they have signed Ewerton from Anzhi Makhachkala on a permanent basis.
The defender linked up with the Portuguese side on loan in January and made 11 appearances for them as they secured a place in the qualification rounds of the Champions League.
Sporting have confirmed that they have activated a clause in the loan agreement that sees them sign the 26-year-old Brazilian on a four-year deal.
"Sporting reports that we have exercised the option to buy Ewerton, [the player] getting a contract lasting until 2019 and with a release clause of €45m (£32m)," the club said in a statement on their official website.
Ewerton has also played for Corinthians and Braga.
