Kyle Walker has expressed his desire to play at the Olympics for Team GB after missing out on the European Championships through injury.
Tottenham Hotspur right-back Walker was in contention to go to the Euros in Poland and Ukraine with England but was ruled out because of a toe injury.
He has since spoken of his disappointment at missing out but is hoping to make up for it to an extent by featuring at the Olympics.
"Of course I am disappointed not to be going to the European Championships," the Daily Star quotes the 21-year-old as saying.
"I am in contention to be in the [Olympic] squad and would love to represent my country.
"I was told my recovery would take four weeks and hopefully I will be back running soon."
Walker also spoke of the disappointment at missing out on next season's Champions League because of Chelsea's triumph in the European competition.
