Tottenham Hotspur manager Andre Villas-Boas has said that he wants to work with a technical director at White Hart Lane.
The Portuguese coach said that he is used to working with someone who deals with off-the-pitch issues, such as player recruitment, and wants the role filled before the start of next season.
Franco Baldini, who was Fabio Capello's assistant during his time with England, has been linked with the position.
"We have been outlining the route ahead for what we want to do in terms of the club structure," Villas-Boas, 35, said.
"Hopefully [there will be] the arrival of somebody else in the structure for the recruitment side, a technical director.
"It is a position I am used to working with and ideally it is someone that will help us to move forward."
Villas-Boas will hope to lead Spurs to a top-four, Champions League finish on the final day of the season tomorrow when they face Sunderland. His side have to win and hope that North London rivals Arsenal fail to do the same against Newcastle United if they are to squeeze into the top four.
