Rafael Benitez remains keen on Premier League role

Rafael Benitez's agent Manuel Garcia Quilon has claimed that the former Liverpool boss is only interested in taking up a job in the Premier League.

Rafael Benitez's agent Manuel Garcia Quilon has reiterated that the Spaniard is keen to manage in the Premier League following reported interest from Sampdoria.

The former Liverpool boss has been linked with the Italian outfit, but the 52-year-old's representative has insisted that he is not interested in taking the Sampdoria job but has hinted that the coach may be open to a move to Tottenham Hotspur, who are currently searching for Harry Redknapp's successor.

"There is nothing with Sampdoria," Quilon told tuttomercatoweb.com. "I can 100 percent confirm that there is no chance [of him going to Sampdoria].

"Where is he now? He is in England and it is his intention to stay there and coach in the Premier League. Tottenham? I repeat, he wants to remain in England."

Benitez has been out of work since getting sacked from Inter Milan in December 2010.
