Nabil Bentaleb expects Tottenham Hotspur recovery

Nabil Bentaleb backs Tottenham Hotspur to put their 1-0 defeat to Manchester City behind them quickly.

Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Nabil Bentaleb has backed the team to recover quickly from their defeat to Manchester City.

Sixth-placed Spurs saw their hopes of a top-four finish dealt a severe blow on Sunday as they were beaten 1-0 at White Hart Lane.

However, Bentaleb is confident that he and his teammates can get back to winning ways this weekend when they make the trip to Stoke City.

"It was a difficult game; we persevered and played really well and we deserved better than a defeat," he told the club's official website. "We should have taken our chances before their goal but we didn't and we have to use that as a lesson now.

"We move onto the next game, Stoke away, and we'll look to put things right. It's going to be another tough game but we'll recover from this latest setback and be ready to give our all again."

Bentaleb has scored one goal in 32 games for Tottenham so far this season.
