Hugo Lloris hails Tottenham Hotspur mentality

Hugo Lloris praises the spirit in the Tottenham Hotspur camp before his side attempt to make it 10 league matches without defeat against Aston Villa on Monday.

Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Hugo Lloris has hailed the mentality at the club and says that the togetherness of the squad is playing a large role in their good Premier League form.

Only high-flying Leicester City have lost as few matches as Spurs this season, with Mauricio Pochettino's side's only defeat of the domestic campaign coming in the form of a 1-0 reverse to Manchester United at Old Trafford on the opening day of the season.

The London side are unbeaten in nine Premier League games since that defeat, and Lloris is adamant that the close bond shared by the squad and the coaching staff has been a key factor.

"We have a lot of honest guys in the squad with a great mentality so it is really easy to come into this team," he told Sky Sports News. "It is really positive at the moment. These players bring their skills but also their personality and mentality.

"I think that it is what the gaffer expects: a great atmosphere in the team, a great mentality, a working mentality. We need to be ready to win all together, to suffer all together, to learn from defeats together.

"It is not just about one or two players, we are a team and if we want to bring the club to the next step, this is the foundation. It is always important to have a good feeling."

Spurs can move up to fifth in the league table with victory over Aston Villa at White Hart Lane on Monday evening.
