Tottenham Hotspur forward Harry Kane happy to end August goalscoring drought

Tottenham Hotspur forward Harry Kane admits that he is relieved to have scored his first Premier League goal in August and insists that it is time to "move on".

Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane has expressed his relief at finally ending his August goalscoring drought.

The England captain has established himself as one of the most prolific marksmen in the Premier League in recent years but previously struggled to find the back of the net in the first month of each new season.

Going into Tottenham's match against Fulham on Saturday, Kane had failed to score in 990 minutes of top-flight football in August, but the 25-year-old rounded off the scoring in the 3-1 home win to end the barren run.

"Yeah, it's always nice, as a striker you want to score in every game so whenever you've got something like this on your back you just want to get it off and score and move on," Kane told Sky Sports News.

"Thankfully I scored and we won which is the most important thing and now we've got a big game next Monday night [against Manchester United]."

Kane scored 52 goals in 59 games for club and country last season.
