American investment company Cain Hoy has announced that it is "at the preliminary stages of assessing a cash offer for Tottenham Hotspur".
Earlier this week, it was reported that owner Joe Lewis had placed a £1bn price tag on Spurs as he prepared to sell the Premier League club, and Cain Hoy has confirmed that they hold an interest in making a bid for the North London outfit.
A company statement read: "Cain Hoy Enterprises, LLC ("Cain Hoy") notes the recent speculation in relation to a potential approach to Tottenham Hotspur Limited ("Tottenham Hotspur).
"Cain Hoy confirms that it is at the preliminary stages of assessing a cash offer for Tottenham Hotspur. Cain Hoy's considerations are at an early stage, and there can be no certainty that any offer will ultimately be made or at what price any offer might be made."
Spurs announced on Wednesday that there would be a season-long delay before they could move to their new stadium.
