Stevenage 0-0 Sheffield United

Stevenage and Sheffield United play out a 0-0 draw in the first leg of the League One playoff semi-final at the Lamex Stadium.

Stevenage and Sheffield United have played out a goalless draw in the first leg of the League One playoff semi-final at the Lamex Stadium.

In a poor first half, Stevenage striker Craig Reid came the closest to breaking the deadlock when his curled effort was tipped onto the crossbar by Steve Simonsen.

Both sides again failed to make their mark after the interval as Stephen Quinn's drive was blocked by Jon Ashton.

Michael Bostwick had a chance for the hosts with 15 minutes to play, but his fierce shot flashed wide.

The two sides meet for the second leg at Bramall Lane on Monday.
