Stoke City's Matthew Etherington is to have an X-ray on his shoulder after picking up an injury during his side's 0-0 draw with Chelsea on Sunday.
The winger fell awkwardly when challenging for an aerial ball in the second half of the goalless draw and was given oxygen while being taken off on a stretcher.
Further news of the injury is expected on Monday.
The Potters face Swiss side FC Thun on Thursday in the first leg of a play-off to enter the group stage of the Europa League.
