Former Liverpool centre-back Sotirios Kyrgiakos is travelling to Sunderland this afternoon for talks over a move to the Stadium of Light, according to Sky Sports News.
The Greek defender, who left Liverpool in August 2011, has spent the last few months playing in the German league with Wolfsburg. However, the 32-year-old has struggled for force his way into the club's starting lineup.
This has alerted Black Cats manager Martin O'Neill, who is lookinf to boost his defensive options.
Kyrgiakos has also played for Glasgow Rangers.
