Swansea City midfielder Joe Allen has claimed that the club will do "everything" to keep hold of on-loan playmaker Gylfi Sigurdsson.
The 22-year-old, who moved to the Liberty Stadium from Hoffenheim in January, will come to the end of his temporary contract in the summer but the Iceland international is eyeing a permanent deal.
"Gylfi has slotted in better than anyone I've ever seen," said Allen. "Of the young players out there I don't think I've seen too many better than him.
"A goalscoring midfielder, as everyone knows, especially at this level, is like gold dust. It's a shame that he isn't our player.
"No doubt we will do everything we can to sign him and I think, if you ask him, he'd probably agree that he'd like to stay."
Sigurdsson scored twice in the Swans' 3-0 win over Fulham at the weekend.
