Leon Britton has called on Swansea City to maintain the form that they produced in the Premier League last season.
Swansea surprised many by finishing in mid-table in their debut top-flight season and Britton has issued a rallying call to his teammates to aim to stay clear of a relegation fight.
Britton told This is South Wales: "We have to be optimistic. We proved our quality in this league but now we have to do that again.
"We punched above our weight last season when you look at our wage bill compared to what they are paying at a lot of other clubs, but we have to aim to do the same this season."
Swansea will play their second Premier League campaign headed new manager Michael Laudrup, who replaced Brendan Rodgers.
