Swindon Town manager Paulo Di Canio has suggested that Alan Connell should leave the Robins and prove himself at another League One club next season.
The 29-year-old striker was placed on the transfer list last week, and Di Canio has said that clubs in Swindon's league have shown an interest but Connell should try to fashion his own move if possible.
Speaking to BBC Wiltshire, Di Canio said: "A club like Swindon can help you but you have to help yourself."
Di Canio also said that he wants Connell to prove him wrong for letting him leave, saying: "I hope he can join a club that is starting League One. I hope he becomes an avenger so he can say 'bye bye Di Canio - you were wrong'."
Connell was Swindon's top scorer last season with 13 goals.
