Transfer window to open on June 9

FIFA announces that next season's Premier League transfer window will open on June 9, with clubs only allowed to sign players until the start of the campaign.

FIFA has revealed that Premier League clubs will be able to sign new players from June 9.

As a result of top-flight teams calling for the transfer window to shut before the start of the season, FIFA has brought in new regulations.

This summer, Premier League sides will be permitted to sign players from June 9 until August 9, with deadline day due to finish at 5pm.

As it stands, that period only applies to the top 20 sides in the country, but the Football League will hold a vote over whether to end their transfer window on August 4.

Players will still be allowed to leave for foreign clubs until the end of August.
