Watford have confirmed the arrival of Younes Kaboul from Sunderland for an undisclosed fee.
The 30-year-old played the full 90 minutes for the Black Cats as they opened their campaign with a narrow defeat to Manchester City on Saturday, but then requested to leave the club for personal reasons.
Sunderland confirmed yesterday that they had accepted an offer from the Hornets for the former France international, and he has now put pen to paper on a three-year deal at Vicarage Road.
"I'm very happy and delighted to be a part of Watford Football Club, and I'm looking forward to the season," he told the club's official website.
"Just from outside, I can see it's a family club, there are some good players here and I'm very confident. The club had a very good season last year, and we need to carry that on to be even better."
Kaboul spent just one season with Sunderland, making 23 appearances to help them to Premier League safety.
