West Bromwich Albion goalkeeper Ben Foster has revealed that he hopes to be nearing a return from a cruciate ligament injury in October.
Earlier this week, West Brom announced that Foster faced a lengthy spell on the sidelines after undergoing surgery on the injury, but the England international has insisted that he will resist any temptation to return ahead of schedule.
The 31-year-old told the Express & Star: "I know what to expect. I've been here before. You can't push cruciates, you have to do six months. That's a must.
"There is no chance of coming back early so I know it's at least October before I return. You follow the guidelines of what the physio says and take it from there.
"October would be the six-month target so fingers crossed it will be around then. We have a great set of physios and doctors so fingers crossed it will all be okay."
Foster has made 30 appearances for the Baggies in all competitions this season.
