West Bromwich Albion head coach Tony Pulis has reportedly told the club's hierarchy that he wants to sign Stoke City defender Robert Huth this month.
Despite accepting to work under a technical director when he was appointed at the club, it is believed that Pulis will play a major role in identifying transfer targets.
According to ESPN, the Baggies boss is interested in working with Huth after signing him while he was in charge of Stoke in 2009.
Huth was a regular under Pulis at the Britannia Stadium, but he has fallen down the pecking order under Mark Hughes this season.
The German was handed a rare start in Sunday's 3-1 win over Wrexham in the FA Cup.
