Stale Solbakken coy on Wolves' chances

Stale Solbakken refuses to discuss the prospect of an instant return to the Premier League for Wolverhampton Wanderers.

New Wolverhampton Wanderers manager Stale Solbakken has played down talk of the club making an instant return to the Premier League.

The 44-year-old, who was unveiled this afternoon, believes that there is a lot of work to be done before he is prepared to make any predictions.

"You cannot predict anything about what will happen in the future," he told reporters. "The job starts now and I will give everything and I will go back to Norway today with DVDs of all 38 games this season to study.

"But we know the Championship is a marathon and if you ask eight or nine other managers, they will have the same aim.

"It will be a hard, long season but we are positive."

The Norwegian has replaced Terry Connor, whose 13-match interim spell in charge ended with relegation from the Premier League last month.
