Wolverhampton Wanderers are reportedly showing interest in Valencia attacker Goncalo Guedes, and hope to use their link with Jorge Mendes to seal the deal.

Wolverhampton Wanderers have reportedly identified Valencia's Goncalo Guedes as a transfer target and will aim to use their link to the Spanish club through Jorge Mendes.

Valencia are part owned by Gestifute, which is Jorge Mendes's company, and the owner of Wolves, Guo Guangchang, has a 20% share in Gestifute, and that relationship between the pair of owners has previously helped the West Midlands club bring Portuguese players to Molineux.

Guedes has been a key figure in Voro's side this season, scoring five goals and registering six assists in 30 La Liga appearances, and his performances have earned him a place in the Portugal national squad for their upcoming European Championship warm-up fixtures.

According to Plaza dePortiva, Guedes will be put up for sale with a transfer value of more than £20m, with Paris Saint-Germain reportedly in line to receive 15-20% of the fee paid to Valencia.

The 24-year-old arrived at the Mestalla from PSG for £40m plus add-ons but Valencia are believed to be in need of reducing their wage bill and therefore Guedes is likely to leave the club for a significantly lower sum than the one he was signed for.

Guedes joined Valencia in 2017, going on to make 135 appearances for the club, scoring 23 goals and providing 24 assists from his wing position.
