Ryan Hall "wasn't sure" about last-minute try in England loss

England wing Ryan Hall admits that he did not know whether or not he had scored a late try in the side's Four Nations defeat to Australia in Melbourne.

Ryan Hall has admitted that he "wasn't sure" whether or not he had scored a late try during England's defeat to Australia in the Four Nations this morning.

Hall tried to ground a loose ball behind the line in the final seconds, but the video referee ruled that he did not apply enough downward pressure on the ball.

The Leeds Rhinos wing told Sky Sports News: "I knew I'd got something on it but I wasn't sure whether I grounded it or not so I didn't want to make a big fuss about it because we wanted the ball back at least.

"After it got referred upstairs it was just cross your fingers and hope. Someone said that if it was Super League rules that would have been a try but we're not in Super League are we?"

The 16-12 loss leaves England level on points with Australia, and two behind leaders New Zealand in the Four Nations table.
