Huddersfield Giants prop Stuart Fielden calls time on his career due to a knee infection.

Huddersfield Giants prop Stuart Fielden has been forced to retire due to a knee infection.

The 33-year-old will remain at the Super League club as part of Paul Anderson's coaching team.

"The club have been superb with me and this freak infection is just typical of the luck of I have had for a while now," Fielden told Huddersfield's official website.

"We have explored every avenue possible and I have trained constantly to get back on the field but it's not going to be."

Fielden won four Super League titles during a 15-year career that saw him play for Bradford Bulls and Wigan Warriors.
