Chris Chester: 'Hull KR can still claim playoff spot'

Chris Chester plays up the importance of Hull KR's meeting with Wigan Warriors tonight, saying that his side must bounce back from their defeat against Widnes Vikings.

Hull Kingston Rovers caretaker coach Chris Chester is hopeful that his side can keep alive their Super League playoff hopes by bouncing back from defeat when they take on Wigan Warriors.

A 28-10 reverse against Widnes Vikings last time out has left the Robins three points behind tonight's opponents in eighth place with just three matches of the regular season remaining.

"We've done a bit of soul-searching and had a few heart-to-hearts," the Daily Mail quotes Chester as saying. "We were dishonest against Widnes and we have addressed that in training over the past two weeks.

"Hopefully we'll get some kind of reaction with a much more professional performance against Wigan. We still believe. There are still eight points up for grabs and we have to make sure we put a good display in on Thursday and get a result.

"If we don't get a performance, it probably throws away our chances of making the playoffs."

Tonight's clash kicks off at 8pm.
