Leeds Rhinos head coach Brian McDermott has confirmed that Stevie Ward will be given "until the 11th hour" to prove his fitness for the Challenge Cup semi-final clash with St Helens.
Second row Ward was in impressive form before suffering an ankle injury in the 46-18 victory over Saints earlier this month.
Speaking to reporters, McDermott said: "We won't make that call until later in the week.
"He is no more than 50-50, but with the form he has been in and the type of player he is, I want to give him until the 11th hour."
Ward, who has had an injury-hit career since breaking into the first team in 2012, has made 21 appearances this season, scoring four tries.
Current cup holders Leeds have already played St Helens twice this year, recording comfortable victories on both occasions.
