Leeds Rhinos forward Stevie Ward sidelined for up to six weeks

Leeds Rhinos confirm that forward Stevie Ward will be sidelined for up to six weeks with an ankle injury.

Leeds Rhinos forward Stevie Ward has been ruled out of action for up to six weeks with an ankle injury.

The 21-year-old suffered the problem during his side's victory over St Helens in Super League on Friday.

Ward has scored four tries for the Rhinos so far this season.

"It is disappointing for Stevie as he has been in outstanding form so far this season," coach Brian McDermott told the club's official website. "However, it could have been worse news and our medical team will do everything possible to get the injury right as quickly as possible."

Leeds continue their Super League campaign on July 9 when they make the trip to Wigan Warriors.
