Wales captain Sam Warburton's agent has cast doubt on his playing future with Cardiff Blues, after signing a deal with the Welsh Rugby Union.
The 25-year-old Lions skipper is now centrally contracted to the WRU and was expected to be loaned back to his current region, but the player's representative Derwyn Jones has suggested that might not be the case.
He told Wales Online: "He also loves Cardiff, he lives in Cardiff and he hopes to continue to play for Cardiff Blues - the WRU and Sam have prioritised this during the negotiation process.
"At this time however, due to the current fallout between the regions and the WRU, there are no cast iron guarantees that Sam will be able play for Cardiff next season."
Earlier this week, it was confirmed that Warburton's Cardiff and Wales teammate Leigh Halfpenny would leave the club to join Toulon in the summer.
